You need permission if you want to reuse any ASCE-copyrighted content. For text, permission is required if the excerpt(s) from a periodical or a conference proceedings paper is 100 words or more; from any book, any quote or series of quotes that adds up to more than 500 words.
You need permission if you want to republish any ASCE-copyrighted figures, tables, diagrams, graphics, illustrations, and photographs/images.
It is the requesting party’s responsibility to ensure that the material is original to ASCE and that the material was not reprinted with permission from a non-ASCE source.
