ABSTRACT ONLY:
Landslide debris, loose subsurface materials, and bedrock located at extreme depths complicated the design and construction of a passing lane on a Colorado highway in hilly terrain near Telluride. The solution involved mechanically stabilized earth walls supported by very long micropiles.
