Refining Residuals

ABSTRACT ONLY:

To increase the capacity of the system used to process residuals at its main wastewater treatment plant, the City of Lakeland, Florida, converted the facility’s existing digestion system to a two-phase anaerobic digestion process. Because it produces a superior biosolids product, the upgraded system is expected to greatly expand the city’s options for disposing of residuals in the future.
