Unconventional Expansion
The City Gate entry to the McCormick Place West Building, the newest addition to the convention center in Chicago, features a 120 ft (36.5 m) tall glazed “lantern” that serves as a landmark for visitors. The structure is supported by two trusses connected to create a three-dimensional truss element.
