2008 Frequency Changes & New Developments

  1. Frequency Changes

Due to significant increases in content, the following journal will experience a frequency change in 2008.

            Journal of Hydrologic Engineering
will be published monthly (previously bi-monthly).

  2. Expanded Digital Archive—1990 to the Present

In our continuing effort to digitize the ASCE Journal archive, three more years (1990-1992) are being added to the ASCE Online Research Library. The addition of these back volumes creates an 18-year digital archive from 1990-present. A paid 2008 Standard Institutional (print+online) or online only subscription will include access to all online archive issues for those journals to which you subscribe.

  3. Electronic Journal Content to be Deposited in Portico Archive

ASCE has signed an agreement with Portico, a not-for-profit digital archiving service for the publishing and library communities, to retain and preserve the society's entire journal collection. Through this agreement with Portico, ASCE ensures that its 30 journals are preserved and available for future scholars, researchers, and students. The archival record will include the back issues of all ASCE journals currently available online in the ASCE Online Research Library.

Archival versions will be stored in multiple locations to ensure the safety and integrity of the files. Portico's (www.portico.org) mission to preserve scholarly literature in electronic form and to ensure that these materials will remain accessible to future generations is in keeping with ASCE's own archiving policy.
