Journal Editors and Reviewers

When you serve as editor, you become the gatekeeper of your journal.  You orchestrate the selection of manuscripts, attract the most prestigious submissions possible, and work with authors to ensure papers are technically sound and clearly written before acceptance for publication. Your vision and leadership play an important role in maintaining and improving the reputation of your journal. Decisions you make can affect authors' careers and determine the direction of future research as well.

As a reviewer, you perform the essential task of sorting wheat from chaff. Your technical evaluation and thoughtful identification of a paper's strengths and weaknesses enable journal editors to make informed decisions about which papers merit publication and distribution to the international engineering community.  Without your expert judgment, substandard work would clog the literature and meritorious papers might go unregarded.
