Leadership and Management in Engineering

Submission Guidelines

ASCE encourages the submission of scholarly and practice-oriented articles to its journals. Before you submit an article, please review the scope statements for ASCE's journals on the journals home pages, to ensure that you are submitting your work to the journal that is best suited for it. Our resources for authors section contains information on many different aspects of publishing with ASCE. Specific information for submitting to Leadership and Management in Engineering appears below.

  • Submit the text as a double-spaced a Microsoft Word file, with figures, figure captions, and tables at the end of the text or in a separate file. The maximum length for an article is 4,000 words.
  • Provide callouts in the text to indicate the placement of figures and tables.
  • Submit figures as TIFF, EPS, or PostScript files. Indicate which figures, if any, should be printed in color; ASCE's Production Department will send you an estimate of the surcharge for color printing. More information on preparing figures for journal articles is available elsewhere on this Web site.
  • Include the complete name, mailing address, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail address for each author on the manuscript. Authors are expected to disclose any financial, economic, or professional interests or affiliations that have influenced positions taken or advocated in their article.

Send all files as e-mail attachments to Journal Submissions; include name of the journal in the subject line.
